Youth Sailing Camps - 2008
Group
Instruction
Learn to Sail Group Classes
Group sailing instruction is offered to anyone interested.
All classes are taught by U.S. Sailing Certified Instructors.
The basicLearn To Sail course is 16 hours on the water,
as well as classroom instruction. Group classes are
completed in either Monohull Sloops, Hobie Catamarans
or Access Dinghies.
Learn to Sail 101 4 day,
16 hour course, $400/person, 4 person minimum
This is your chance to get out on the water and learn
to do something new! Upon successful completion of
this course you will know how to tell where the wind
is coming from, be able to rig and derig your own
boat, understand basic sailing maneuvers (tacking,
gibing, sailing upwind, downwind and off the wind),
know how to launch and land safely, be able to demonstrate
safety position and the points of sail.
Learn to Sail 102 - (Prereq:
101 or equivalent experience) 4 day, 10 hour course,
$250/person, 4 person minimum
Build on your skills! This course can be a refresher
or a continuation of 101. This course focuses on time
on the water. Successful completion gives you the
skills to go sailing on your own. This course puts
an emphasis on self-sufficiency, including proper
and consistent execution of skills learned in 101.
In addition, you will learn the importance of good
sail trim and how to use tell tales to sail upwind
efficiently.
Private Individual instruction:
Private lessons are available on demand and at your
convenience. U.S. Sailing certified instructors are
on call and on hand for private lessons.

- Hobie Wave Individual Private Lessons: $75 per
hour, $35 per hour for each additional person.
- Hobie Wave Individual Private Lesson Package:
$250 for 4 hours, $175/each additional person.
- Hobie Getaway Individual Private Lessons: $95
per hour, $50 per hour for each additional person.
- Hobie Getaway Individual Private Lesson Package:
$330 for 4 hours, $200/each additional person.
- Sailing Summer Camp, Mon - Fri, 9 am to 3 pm,
(Children, 8 - 16), $250.00/wk
