sum camp apr nlYouth Teams: CCSC is home to youth teams for every age and ability. Our teams compete at regattas locally, regionally and nationally. Being a part of a youth sailing team teaches not only racing skills, but self-reliance, team work, and a broader knowledge of weather conditions. All youth sailors must be annual members of CCSC.

Teenie Greenies: Teenie Greenies is our introductory program. It is for children ages 5-9 who have not sailed before and want to get a feel for being on the water. Kids will be trying multiple different boats, but will be primarily sailing in Optimist Prams. The Teenie Greenies sail Sundays 9:30-12:00, March-May.

Green Fleet: The Opti Green Fleet is for kids ages 8-14 who are new to sailing and would like to learn how to race. The team practices Saturdays 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM and Sundays 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Once a child has been in Green Fleet for a year they are moved up to the Red, White & Blue Fleet (RWB)
Red, White, and Blue Fleet: The Opti RWB Race Team is for experienced sailors who are ready to compete at the highest level and are under 15 years of age. The Optimist Race Team competes in many local events, but also prepares sailors for National and International Optimist events, focusing on advanced boat handling and tactics. The sailors become exposed to a strong team atmosphere in which sailors are working hard both on and off the water as well as doing physical training. Sailors on the Race Team are highly recommended to purchase their own Optimist or race sail.

420-for-website-300x225420 Team: Our 420 team is for sailors graduating for the Opti RWB team or new sailors over the age of 14 who would like to learn how to race. Not only is our 420 team a CCSC club team, but it is also a competitive high school sailing team.
